Audrey & Eric's wedding was fantastic! It was in the Twin Cities, and their reception is the reason I LOVE shooting the party after the wedding. Everyone is relaxed and having a great time! There were some very cute kids as well who were a bit suspicious of me :)The ceremony was gorgeous:

The flamingos were VERY well dressed :)And they are very much in love!Their slideshow is uploading right now, and ALL the photos will be up on the 5th.

Sye the Dog needs help

This is an email from Catkin's Animal Rescue. Laura is an AMAZING woman - I shot her wedding a couple of years back, and I like to help her out with her rescue as much as I can!

"PLEASE HELP!! FORWARD AND CROSSPOST TO SAVE SYE!!
SYE'S FAMILY MEMBERS SHOT AND IN PRISON. POOR SYE IS NOW FIGHTING FOR HISLIFE!
SYE has very little time left at Price County Animal Control in Phillips,WI.
Sye is a 2 1/2 year old neutered male Rottie/Husky X. He was confiscated by animal control after his owner's split up violently. The boyfriend in the relationship took Sye, he then went to his girlfriend's mother's house and shot the two women. The man is now in prison, and the one shooting survivor has been sent to Florida to recover. Now that the case is closed, the county is pushing for something to be done with Sye! The ACO doesn't want to see Sye PTS, but no one has come forward to adopt him and he is running out of time!!
Sye is very friendly with people (despite the fact that his male owner was'dominant' and the police may have maced him), but we don't know how he iswith other dogs. One individual the ACO talked to said Sye was not goodwith other dogs and the shooting survivor said he was. The ACO has not done any dog-dog interactions.
This is a super sweet dog (I got lots of kisses when I took pictures!!) that deserves a second chance and a REAL home!!
Contact Laura at Catkins_wi@yahoo.com or call (715) 681-0022.
If you can't help please forward to someone who might!

Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!!

First Ice! (...and, no, I am not crazy :) )

My husband Jim and I went ice fishing for the first time this year today! It was actually really nice out, however, I was dumb and didn't wear snowpants :( As a photographer I lay down a lot to get a different perspective, so I got totally soaked by the end!
My mother will be happy to note we both wore our life vests :)

I am currently redesigning Jim's website - www.fishchequamegonbay.com. Hopefully the new one will be up by December 15th...

Justine's senior photos!

We did Justine's photos on a particularly crummy day in November... The colors that day were gorgeous, mostly because it was so gray and rainy out! Nothing like a bit of moisture to make things pop. Justine looked fantastic even though we got a little damp :)

Jessi & Tyler!

This wedding was so creative! Jessi's uncle did all the bouquets and the decorations for both the ceremony and the reception. Jessi and Tyler were a lot of fun - and I LOVED both of their families!
This photo of the little girl who wanted some cake is one of my favorite reception shots ever!
Their slideshow is uploading as I write this...

This special below doesn't have a timeline though:

Payge & John's Wedding at Our Lady of the Lake in Ashland

The fall colors for this wedding were beautiful!! I could not believe how we lucked out for Payge and John's wedding, and it was in my favorite church, so that was awesome as well!

One of the groomsman was forced to hold the bouquet :)

And they got pretty high up!

And I love this one in the leaves!

Their slideshow is up at www.stonehouseslideshow.com/paygejohn

I don't care who you vote for. I just want people to vote. Its THE most American and patriotic thing you can do!

That's my two cents for today :)

Audrey & Eric's engagement photo

Audrey and Eric are getting married today - I am in St Paul to shoot their wedding - and I cannot wait! I was on the Chequamegon Humane Association's board with Audrey, and I first met her when she helped Jim and I get Scout form the Shelter.

We took this here in Ashland at Prentice Park last week - the leaves were gorgeous!

I'm getting back tomorrow, so I'll have a some up from some recent weddings tomorrow evening.

Greg & Christine and a Blizzard toast!

This wedding in Duluth was really fun! The group photos were before the ceremony, so to relax inbetween the pictures and the ceremony, chocolate Blizzards were had by all! Greg and Christine toasted to each other chocolate Blizzards in hand :)

I got this wonderful photo of Chris and her grandmother:

This ring bearer, by the way, is one of the cutest I have seen!

The ceremony was beautiful... and then Greg and Chris took off in this gorgeous vehicle!

Here is Greg's uncle in the driver's seat! All of their photos will be up on Friday!
Happy Halloween everyone!
Next up - Jessi and Tyler and Payge and John! I'm heading down to the Cities to shoot a wedding there this weekend, so I'll post some stuff on Monday....

A vacation, a bonfire, and a MOOSE!

Ok - so I went on a little (very) vacation to my parents' house in Monona. The photo above is a shot of a river I have always driven by on my way to Madison. I've never had the time to take a photo, but I got one this time!

It was really nice to go and see my family. The real reason I went was to see the dentist - yes, I drive 6 hours for a DENTIST - but I have some issues with drills to say the least :). After that was done, though, we got to hang out in my Mom's garden, go to the Madison Farmer's Market and the Dog Park, and sit around a bonfire at my sister Molly's new house. My Mom and I also went to some awesome thrift stores! I am absolutely obsessed with thrift stores - I found some incredible finds, including a Patagonia fleece for 20 cents!! It was REALLY fun and extremely relaxing.

These are some shots from the garden:Flora (Scout's girlfriend :) ) at the Dog Park:The Farmer's Market in Madison:The campfire:The most interesting thing that happened, though, happened on Scout and I's nightly walk around the block. We turned a corner to pass our neighbor's house. I thought to myself, man is it DARK. I couldn't see anything. It was misty, so I thought for a split second that maybe the streetlight was out. Then I realized that something was turning towards me. All of a sudden I realized that it was pitch back because a HUGE bull moose's rack was blocking the light!! It was literally 5 FEET from us and walking up to us. I completely freaked - not because I was scared, but because I have never ever ever seen one, and its been my dream to see one up close. This was a bit more than I bargained for, though!!!! I booked it back to the house dragging poor Scout by his leash, crashed through the front door and screamed "THERE IS A F-ING MOOSE UP THE STREET". We ran to the pickup, got the spotlight, I hastily got my camera and my flash, and we called another friend, the game warden, and our friend Lucas who was on patrol that night. (For those of you who don't know, my husband is a cop in Bayfield... and we didn't want poor Lucas getting phone calls about crazy people in pickups shining spotlights in yards.)
We drove the half block around the corner and there he was munching on grass in the Park Service lawn. He was NOT happy we showed up, so the only photos we have are these HORRIBLY embarrassing ones, which is why they are at the end of this blog lol. I took them from a MOVING pickup truck while hanging out the passenger window. You can kind of see his rack, but it doesn't do justice to how truly large he was... It does show, however, that I will do pretty much anything to get a photo - including hanging out a car window ;)
