Burt & Francies' New Roaster

Occasionally I enjoy taking photos of inanimate objects. My friends John and Danielle just got a new coffee roaster for their place - Burt and Francies. They are hoping to be roasting in a few weeks, so I am looking forward to taking shots of John in action.

I absolutely LOVE the light in the back room where the roaster is, and the patina of the metal with cool lettering makes for some awesome close ups! I used a wideangle (17mm) lens in both of these to get some interesting perspectives.

The light in the front room is also fantastic, and I think the patterns in the cooler are quite fun!

The majority of us in Bayfield spend most of our free time in this place not only because their coffee treats and bakery are amazing, but their huge front window offers great people watching (or blizzard watching depending on the season :). You can sit and sip and check out all the action. ...or read a magazine

A new year, a new blog... Karla & Mark on the North Shore

The official wedding season began for me this weekend, and so I decided to start a whole new Bayfield wedding photographer's blog - getting rid of the old one. Now, if I can just get my website http://www.stonehousephoto.com/ to behave... :) There have been some server issues the past few weeks, so email me at stonehousephoto (at) gmail.com if you've been trying to see anything!

My first wedding of the season was on the North Shore of Minnesota. I have never shot a wedding there - and I absolutely loved it! Karla and Mark were gorgeous, and their families were wonderful.

There was a huge thunderstorm that passed through the area right before the wedding began, and it made the sky look amazing for the ceremony and afterwords. Here are a few of my favorite shots:

I'll have a slideshow up at the end of this week - there were so many cool ones to choose from, I've given up and just posted these :).
